One of my favorite shoe brands Siegerson Morrison just opened up their online shop which also sells their belle line. Their strappy heels are my favorite because they are so well made. I have a pair of metallic silver ones that are still going strong after 5 years. I haven't even had to get the soles and heel fixed. I might have to add these light gold strappy heels to my collection now that they are on sale for $357 (regular $595).

Here are more of my picks (some of the summer shoes are on sale!):

Dorsay Ankle Wrap Peep-Toe in Raspberry (On sale for $327)

Gladiator Wedge ($450)

Skinny T-Strap Thong with Ikat Weaving (On sale for $346.50)

Belle - Rock N' Roll Peep-Toe Sandal Bootie ($290)

And take a peek into the pre-fall 2009 collection!

Product Report: Dr Scholls Insoles for High Heels

I must confess I am an insole junkie. I can’t resist them. Lately, I haveseen commercials with Stacy London endorsing Dr. Scholl’s high heel gel insole. They are supposed to shift weight from the toe to the heel.
I like the premise around TLC’s “What Not To Wear”, but it bothers me when they ambush, I mean, surprise someone, thenspend five minutesmakingfun of that person’s style.Ifthe initial comedy routine isn’t enough, when they go through the person’s closet, they arebrutal. I don’t think it is fair. It draws an audience, but as hosts they should treat their guests with more respect. It is just bad manners. No wonder the guest is in tears.
Anyways, I am always game to see if Dr. Scholl’s can really make my 4 1/2 inch heels feel like I am walking on clouds. I scored the last one in Target, about $9.00.These are different because they have a thicker padding at the arch, about 1/4 inch thick.

I had a specific shoe in mind.Peep toe Steve Madden wedgesthat are about7years old. I want to love them, but they have never been comfortable, soI don’t wearthem often.

The size of the Dr. S insole is supposed to fit “sizes 6 to 10.” Now, that is a HUGE difference in foot sizes. The size on the left is a 6.5 and the size on the right is a 10.5.

There were no real instructions about placement.Trial and errorshowed that the heelof the insole should fit the back of the shoe, but the toe of the insole was nowhere near the toe of my shoe, so there was a more pressure than should have been. Dr. Scholl’sshould probably make two different sizes,6 to8 and9 to 11.
They are clear so they are virtually invisible on your shoe. These will work with even the strapiest heels.
Conclusion: At the end of the evening, my feet didn’t ache like they usually do, so yes, they work. Actually they worked quite well. If you have a size 7 or 8 shoe, these would work perfectly. Iamgoing tolook for an insole that is designed for a larger foot. If I can’t find one, then I will probably return to Dr. Scholl’s.That being said, they cannot fix shoe design problems. These shoes rub at my big toe joint, so it is a design problem. I will probably be giving them away.

Galligator showed us a wonderful pair of shoes to celebrate Canada Daya couple of days ago. I just found shoes that you can wear whilecelebrating July 4th.

Star by Marc by Marc Jacobs $226 at Saks
Look at the back, there is a big star at the heel. How much fun is that?

These shoes have all the components of a perfect shoe. Ankle strap, 4 inch heel, patent leather, little more than peep toe and embelleshments. I bet halfthe shoes in my closet have these same features.

My daughter and Iwere talking about this and that and I showed her Galligator’sAustralia Love Collectiveboot review. We went to the ALC website just for kicks and, folks, they are havinga massive summer sale. I am not going to tell you how many pair I bought, but let’s just say that no girl in my family will have cold feet after Christmas.
Fame was $300 is now $150

Party Nomad was $395 and is now $197.50

TheirTsar is sold out of the sand color but still has a burgandy and olive. The fur is the same color as the leather. It was $450 and is now $225 There are some restrictions, so you really need to consider what you are purchasing.
I know it is obscene to talk about Christmas when it is so doggone hot, but with a sale this good, I had to let you all know. After I made my purchases.

Regulars of this blog will know that I’m a sucker for heel details. I love it when a classic pump is embellished with details on the heel - it’s still very elegant, glam, but utterly unique. I was already a fan of Stuart Weitzman “Peepers” when I first saw them featured on Zappos for $575. However, I *really* had to exercise sheer non-purchasing willpower when I saw them featured today on Gilt Groupe for half off - $278 instead of $575. Will you exercise such restraint?
If the Weitzman’s Peepers looks familiar, per MTV, they are the same ones featured in Beyonce’s Ego video. I assume that Beyonce had the shoes re-soled so they were less slippery, but how she manages to dance so ferociously in Stuart’s shoes with such skinny heels is beyond me. I could probably manage a few hundred yard and back if I’m lucky in these shoes. My admiration for Beyonce just went up a few notches. Sigh, what we women will do to look good.

I am the youngest of a large family. When I was a toddler, my older siblings would put my dad’s leather gloves on my feet andpretend I was atrained monkey. We were easily entertained.
When I saw this photo it took me back to my childhood.

These shoes are by Vibram at about $75.00. Time Magazine named them one of the best inventions of 2007. Where have I been?
They offer a classic pump

A smart maryjane

and a stylish bootie.

I saw these in a store that specialized in outdoor gear. I asked for the five finger discount and the sales guy didn’t even change expression. No humour.
I don’t even know where to begin with these. I will let you all have your fun with them.

I was going to do a post on welcoming Louise Black but my e-friend Denise, writer extraordinaire of The Swelle Life blog, did such a lovely job covering the new collection that I am going to take the liberty of copying her post here for you all to see!I am REALLY excited to welcome Louise to the Shrimpton family - her items are unbelieveable - if oyu think they look good in the photos wait till your piece arrives in the mail! There are some HUGE thiings coming up for Louise that I am sworn to secrecy on but trust me - this girl is ging to be BIG. Buy her now while you can get it!_________________________June 29, 2009 Louise Black's Victorian Beauties for Shrimpton Couture My favourite vintage shop, Shrimpton Couture, has embarked on an exciting venture and enlisted the talents of a handful of carefully chosen independent accessories designers to create one-of-a-kind capsule collections for the boutique. Each is known for using special vintage materials that befit their own unique style and their creations are the perfect complement to the outstanding collection of vintage and reworked clothing that Shrimpton Couture offers. The latest set of adornments comes courtesy of Louise Black whose richly detailed Victorian pieces favour delicate vintage laces and fringe and exquisite beadwork. The story goes that Courtney Love - a client of both Louise and Shrimpton Couture - suggested the two collaborate! How I missed posting on the recent collection from The Glamourai I have no idea because I was completely smitten at first glance with her latest. It was influenced by the Sofia Coppola film Marie Antoinette and certainly captured the decadent, feminine styling at its best. My favourite piece went before it was even in the shop due to a frenzied reaction to a preview, so it's now with a lucky owner but I'm going to show it anyway:However, somehow this piece is still available and is equally as luscious:And a little something for the wrist, perhaps?Modelled by The Glamourai herself along with another stunningneckpiece that got snapped up immediatelyWatch the Shrimpton Couture boutique for two more mouthwatering jewelry collections arriving soon. And fashion fans won't want to miss the Shrimpton Couture interview for Herald de Paris in which Norma Kamali answers questions from twitterers (tweeters? I'm not sure) including one from Yours Truly about the future of vintage. You can read the article here

Call me crazy. Ridicule my taste, style & judgment. Whatever; in this instance, I don’t care. I am insanely haunted by this (admittedly) utterly impractical shoe. I have absolutely no occasion, outfit, or excuse to wear these. But, sometimes there is no conscious rationale behind our attraction to a particular shoe. So fine, I’m irrational. I think I can deal with that.

Moschino C10112ISP1 $490 $275.64 at Overstock.com
Considering the ever-increasing prices of designer shoes, Moschino’s visual pun on shoe-bling and pricey styles falls more toward art than utility. I love it. What an apt commentary on the amounts we shoe-obsessed women can be convinced to pay for a beautiful shoe-crush. This shoe is such a great bit of tongue-in-cheek irony that I would love to own it just to but it on display in its own little curio nook. It would be fun to add a hint of self-mockery to my decor - particularly since my little shoe-obsession is no secret to most of those who know me.
And, unless I am mistaken, art may be the only wise way to purchase this particuler “last pair” at Overstock; someone has apparently neglected to note the shoe size in the item description.

Your monitor is not playing tricks on your eyes. These Giuseppe Zanotti zipper boots have not one, not two, but four zippers. Functionality-wise, I’m a big fan of zippers and shoelaces. They help me ease my way into shoes and since my feet have a tendency to expand and shrink depending on the weather, shoelaces especially are wonderfully adjustable.
Sadly, these zippers appear to have no functional value. The description of the boots reads “simply pull on” but maybe that’s a good thing. Which zipper would I actually use with so many choices? Still, these boots are quite rockin’ and I’m already channeling my inner biker babe x 4.
Giuseppe Zanotti’s Zipper Ankle Boots are $975 at NetAPorter

Courtney thought that we might be a good fit for each other and she was spot on!!I love the work that Louise Black does, its rocker chic mixed with Victorian girlie decadence and I already personally own a few pieces that I wear regularly to rave reviews! Her workmanship is incredible- I am incredibly picky about the quality and I am a fan - she does tight stitching, uses incredible antique and vintage textile remnants, and all are mixed and constructed into beautiful piece done with an astonishing aesthetic!I will be posting more pictures soon and launching the entire line - I have 6 pieces in my hands right now and there are 6 more coming shortly.I anticipate that like The Glamourai she will soon be selling out before I can even get items posted so watch this space carefully for updates! Here is a sneak peek of one of her incredible cuff braceletsLOVE!Trust me when I say that Louise Black is on the cusp of being the next big thing so grab her pieces while you can!!
