I think Emma Roberts looks beautiful as usual, I love how she balances a classically beautiful look but keeps it age appropriate. It’s nice to see a young female celebrity that carries herself so well.
Makeup Artist Dawn Broussard collaborated with Neutrogena brand ambassador Emma Roberts to create the starlets look for the Hollywood premiere of Valentines Day. Now, she shares how you can achieve this gorgeous look on your own:
Face:
To keep her skin looking beautiful on and off the red carpet, Emma regularly cleanses with Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Redness Soothing Facial Cleanser.
For this premiere, I wanted to build a naturally flawless face while treating blemishes and preventing future breakouts. I used Neutrogena SkinClearing Liquid Make-up and SkinClearing Mineral Powder in Classic Ivory for a beautifully even finish. Since her hair was swept away from her face, I gave Emma an airy glow with a Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Blush in Illuminator.
Eyes:
Although Emmas dress was light in color, it was adorned with shimmery sequins in brighter hues. To complement her fun and flirty look, I wanted to accentuate her eyes with spicy-warm brown shades since they are not as harsh as black. Using Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Duo in Crme Caramel for the eye shadow base, I applied Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Duo in Fairy Dusty in the creases of her eyes for a hint of drama. I framed her lash lines with Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Liner in Spiced Chocolate so her eyes would pop against her subtle lip color. I finished the look off with a few coats of Healthy Volume Black Brown Mascara.
Lips:
To balance out her smokey eye make-up, I layered Neutrogena MoistureShine LipSheers in Sparkling Nude underneath a top coat of Neutrogena MoistureShine Gloss in Whisper.
Hair Care:
I armed Emma with a bottle of Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo for when she heads home as it instantly removes over 90% of styling product build-up other shampoos and conditioners leave behind. Considering Emmas hair had a lot of styling products in it, the Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo is a great choice for removing dulling residue from overworked hair post-event.

From Remnant To Beautiful Creation

One of my favorite things about the internet is how it feels at times like a treasure hunt. Sometimes I don’t even know I’m hunting, until I get to that a-ha! moment.
Today, while looking at my Design*Sponge update, I saw a piece onParis apartment dweller, Catherine Taret, whom writes My Little Paris. I had to check it out, because as a girl living in a California suburb, there is nothing more fascinating than the idea of living life as a Parisienne.
My Little Paris is set up into sections and I clicked first”beauty” and then “fashion,” because that’s my area ofinterest, of course. Under fashion I found a piece on Eva Zingoni, who takes leftover fabric and materials from the Paris fashion houses and uses them to create beautiful garments. From remnant to beautiful creation. She also uses recycled materials to make jewelry.
Eva Zingoni believes in a fashion that is not only aesthetic but that seeks to transmit values and even convey emotions. Her limited-series garments are made with prestigious textiles recovered from famous fashion houses. Each unique and luxurious fabric that Eva collects inspires the form, tailoring and texture of a garment and her job as a designer is to listen to what each fabric says, creating a garment that reflects these emotions. Each garment is made exclusively in French workshops, a decision dictated by Evas respect for craftmanship and her desire to support and sustain outstanding local talent.

The black dress above is in matte jersey viscose. It has stripes and embroidered silk organza petals. The Eva Zingoni website is available in both French and English.

Flirty Lashes
Jennifer Hudson may just have been a performer at this year’s Grammys, but the actress/singer still sported a winning look. Our favorite touch? Extra-long Bambi lashes, put in place by Dior makeup artist Tia Dantzler. For understated but ultra-feminine eyes like these, rim your lids with a thick stripe of waterproof liner, then tuck in a few clusters of false lashes at the outer corners of your eyes. “I used the smudger on the end of the pencil to soften the line under her eyes,” said Dantzler. “It created a subtle, smokey look.”

CosMedix: Plant-Based Cosmeceuticals

Cosmeceuticals go one step beyond traditional skin care, using science to aid in the fight against skin damage and the effects of aging. CosMedix is a line of skin care that works by using the science of Chirality.
Chirality refersto the right-handed and left-handed molecules in our bodies and the ingredients we apply to them. Ingredients that have been chirally corrected have been filtered to contain only molecules that positively interact with the skin. In addition to minimizing the risk of allergic or adverse reactions, studies have shown this process to produce ingredients up to four times more concentrated than those in conventional brands.
CosMedix is a plant-basedskin care line. They use no artificial colors or preservatives. The CosMedix people sent me two of their products to sample for review: Affirm Antioxidant Firming Serum and Eye Believe Liquid Crystal Serum.

Eye Believe is an eye serum that you use as part of a night time skin care regime. It protects and replenishes the delicate skin around the eyes. It uses alpha-liopic acid to stimulate collagen and elastin. It reduces the look of fine lines. You can also use it around your lips, to help deal with fine lines and thinning lips.
I like this product. It has a sort of irridescent look to it, purple to green. I know that isn’t science-y, but it sure makes it fun to use. A little, tiny bit goes a long way. I noticed a relaxation in the fine lines, crow’s feet type, after using it for 2 weeks. Eye Believe retails for $90.

Affirm Antioxidant Firming Serum. This serum is meant to be used alone or under a moisturizer. It’s a peptide serum made with antioxidants that help to correct and prevent photo-damage. This means, it helps with damage from the sun. Some of the antioxidants include Reservatol from grapes, Whey Protein, and seed oils. It’s also supposed to help with firming.

I liked this serum. I didn’t see as big of an improvement as I did with the Eye Believe, but that may just mean that it takes a bit more time or I’ve already been using some really good skin care products. I have freckling from being outside (I run and ride a bike) and this product fades the freckling. It is non-sticky and absorbs quickly. It smells good and leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated. I didn’t use an additional moisturizer for day, but I did use a makeup with SPF over it. Affirm retails for $78.

Etsy weekend shopping… When I was a kid, my sister’s favorite thing to dress up as for Halloween was a gypsy. She would pile on all Mom’s necklaces – the two best being a blue bead and leather necklace and a choker with hanging strands of faux gold coins. We thoughtthe lookwas so cool.
I found a grownup version that my sister would love today. The Holly Lynne shop at Etsy has a coin-charm bracelet made with coins from around the world including; Yugoslavia (1984), Slovenia (1998), France (1990), Slovenia (2000), and Argentina (1987). This is the rich gold version.

Gypsy Coin Bracelet - gold
$26
This handmade charm bracelet is made from a length of geometric, bubbly circle chain. It features five different gold toned coins as charms, all of the heavier metal variety rather than lightweight aluminum or tin.
There’s also an antiqued silver version with coins from Equador (1991), Uganda, Yugoslavia (1988), and Ghana. Both bracelets are 7.5 inches in length.
