Were suckers for the right packaging we see it and we want it, whether its the cool branding of a an Innocent Smoothie, the cheeky retro boxes of our favourite Benefit buys, a Le Labo fragrance, or a Diptique candle. And let's face it, UK high streets just wouldn't be the same without a Starbucks logo (or three).

Weve got a new brand crush in the form of Green & Spring, a lust worthy new skincare range created by the couple behind super-luxe Cowley Manor and its award winning Spa in the Cotswolds.

The packaging is as cool and clean as Cowley and the lotions and potions inside - made from herbs, flowers and plants native to the British isles - smell like HEAVEN.

Think expensive spas, ultra chic hotel rooms, and luscious herb gardens in summer... Trust us when we say these fragrances are to die for if only you could scratch and sniff your computer screen...

Our bathroom staples? Their Relaxing Hand Cream the perfect concoction of marshmallow, comfrey, lavender and camomile.

And for softer than soft post-sun skin, try the incredibly rich Indulging Body Cream (a serious treat for you or a deserving friend).

Here's a great video tutorial on how to get the Megan Fox makeup look. In terms of Megan's beautiful appearance, the two most popular questions revolve around how to get her eyebrow look and also whether or not she's had a nose job.
In the video below via Before and After TV, Katie uses an eyeshadow with a tiny eyebrow brush to recreate the Megan Fox eyebrow look.

Spotlight On: IVANAhelsinki

IVANAhelsinki is currently the single brand which speaks to my own roots fully. Behind the brand is a sweet faced Scandinavian girl with a sneaky dark side, I'm in love. IVANAhelsinki is an exclusive art fashion brand which delicately brings together Slavic rough melancholy and pure Scandinavian moods.

Behind the brand is the artist Paola Ivana Suhonen who pulls from her dark naive mind-landscapes, northern legends and western romantics, doing prints, graphics, short movies and well, everything that is involved with the visuals. Paola runs the family-owned company with older sister Pirjo. Paola has created an exclusive collection for Topshop and has gone so far as to curate Dress-go-Around where 10 girls are given IVANAhelsinki dresses, are documented in them, then the dresses are passed on to loved ones.
Here's a special slide show of her gorgeous designs as well.

Paola was kind enough to answer some of my questions below. I hope you enjoy this feature as much as I do:

.different-text-color { color: grey; }

What is your earliest memory?

We were playing lions in the cage of one Finnish film directors backyard- he actually had had there some wild animals, back in the 20s.

What is your most treasured possession?

My rescued dog "affe" and my belief in eternal love

What would your super power be?

To sense the ghosts- actually I already have it:)

What is a secret treat that you love?

Old whiskey

What single thing would improve the quality of your life?

A good-mad man

Who in your life has inspired your sense of style the most?

My mom in her 60s bold dresses and silk scarves and huge sunglasses being a young psychoalalytic-chick (sic) She rocks

What is the worst job you've done?

Selling matches from door to door--and wc paper--oh, that was a bit too much!

Who would play you in the film of your life?

Maja Ivarsson

What is your favorite smell?

Lily-of-the -valley

What keeps you awake at night?

My endless projects which I just cant get enough of..

Describe IVANAhelsinki in three words.

"dresses for beautiful girls"

Tell us a joke.

I hate jokes. Im a serious girl:)

Thank you Paola.

This book is considered a good primer for anyone considering going into the modelling industry. One reviewer on Amazon says;
This book does exactly what the title says, it reveals the ugly side of the modeling business. However, it is an older book so you won't hear any recent names. There is another book out there, "Shut up and Smile" that covers more recent models. But the writing from that book is no comparison to this one. This book is by someone that knows how to write and the stories are very in-depth which can only make the book better. The pictures are also better in this book.

Beauty Review: Carol's Daughter Almond Cookie Scrub & Lotion

Hello beautiful people! If there is one brand of products that I get the most requests for review, it is Carol's Daughter. Please oh please forgive me for just now getting to that. But better late than never. In the next few weeks, you will see Carol's Daughter reviews pop up quite frequently on Clumps of Mascara. I can just feel your enthusiasm. LOL!Check out the reviews:Almond Cookie Sea SaltBody ScrubPrice: 4 out of 5 ($18 from Sephora.com)Packaging: 5 out of 5Overall: 5 out of 5What it claims: "Smooth your skin with pure sea salt blended with almond, vanilla, and sandalwood for a warm, sweet scent that gets you glowing. This glorious scrub makes layering this delicious scent, pure pleasure." (source)The truth: What a yummy and delicious scrub! What I loved about it: I love that there isn't any mineral oil or petroleum in it. I mean...this is great! Mineral oil clogs the pores and petroleum leaves that oily residue that makes for a serious slip and fall in the shower. What I didn't like: I wish the packaging wasn't so bulky. It doesn't fit comfortably in the shower and if you don't latch the top all the way....mess galore!Overall: At first glance, you may get turned off by the oils sitting on top of the scrub. But don't! Sink your hands beyond the essential oils and you will hit the decadent scrub!I love it. It really really realllly exfoliates well for me. I'm not sure if I would recommend this for sensitive skin gals as it was a bit abrasive but it worked beautifully for me. I love that the smell isn't too overpowering. It leaves your skin silky smooth with just a faint smell of almond cookies. I have never really been a fan of smelling like food but even I can deal with this! I do think the price is a little hefty but scrubs last for a while so it's a good investment. And the packaging makes for great storing after the scrub is done!Next up....Almond Cookie Body ButterPrice: 3 out of 5 ($28 from Sephora.com-online only!)Packaging: 5 out of 5Overall: 3 out of 5What it claims: "A rich, luxurious moisturizer for very dry skin, with a delicious scent of sweet almonds, vanilla, and sandalwood. " (source)The truth: Not a bad follow-up to the Almond Cookie scrub! If you can take the super strong smell. What I loved about it: It isn't overly greasy! A great deal of body butters are. It's like, "Yeah....I know I have dry skin but that doesn't mean I want to be all oil slick-ish." I love that I don't get that feeling. What I didn't like: Ohmigoodness....it is strong! I mean, it smells good but the smell is just TOO strong.Overall: What's not to love about a beautiful little body butter that has an almond sitting on top of it?I mean, how cute is that? I almost wanted to eat it. I know, "Eww Brit," is right. LOL! The body butter feels excellent on the skin. I mean, luscious! With it being summertime, I probably wouldn't wear it during the day but it is perfect for pampering at night. And it is exceptional on those dry areas...you know, elbows, knees and feet. It's great! But as mentioned, the smell is just a little too much for me.I think both the scrub and body butter are pretty good but if you had to get just one, I would go with the scrub. It is truly an "experience".I wish Carol's Daughter products weren't so expensive. A great deal of us love the idea of all-natural skincare products but don't like the pretty penny behind them.Have you tried any of these products? Snag 'em now at Sephora!Oh....I did a quick video 4-minute video review too. Please disregard when I say "Apple". LOL, so random!Carol's Daughter Almond Cookie goodies! from Clumps of Mascara on Vimeo.
